  SESSION #1: 

  Accounting Update 

  At this year’s CIAA Annual Accounting Update, we’ll provide an insurer-focused overview of upcoming new and amended accounting standards, including IFRS 18 – Presentation and disclosure in the financial statements, and the targeted amendments to IFRS 9 – Financial Instruments and IFRS 7 – Financial Instruments: Disclosure. We will also provide an update on OSFI B-15–Climate Risk Management Regulations.

  Economic Update

  The Economic Update will include a general global economic outlook including the US, and a Canadian economic outlook covering topics such as government policy, business spending, trade outlook, housing and implication for interest rates and the Canadian Dollar.

  SPEAKER:

  Andrew Hencic, Director & Senior Economist, TD

  Andrew Hencic is a Director & Senior Economist with TD Bank Group, where he provides insights on financial market developments and trends in the Canadian and U.S. economies. He also regularly contributes to a variety of TD publications. Previously, Andrew was the lead forecaster for major countries outside of North America. 

  Andrew holds a PhD. in Economics from York University and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.
