2025 CIAA Annual Conference
The CIAA Annual Conference is more than just engaging seminars and insightful panels. It’s a gathering where insurance accountants from across Canada unite to exchange best practices and tackle challenges impacting finance departments and companies in our industry. It’s a cherished time of year to forge new connections and strengthen longstanding relationships.
As we wrapped up our last conference in September 2024 in Calgary, Alberta, we felt a profound sense of community and enthusiasm for the future. Building on that momentum, we are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for our 2025 Annual CIAA Conference, taking place in Hotel PUR, Quebec, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Quebec City.
Our 2025 conference theme is “Northern Momentum: Bridging Change in Insurance Accounting”. The event kicks off with a Sunday evening dinner reception and awards celebration—a perennial favorite. On Monday, we launch into day one with a keynote address from Erik McElvenny, Inspirational Speaker and Former Marine Corps Officer, followed by our renowned CEO and CFO panels, Designated Underwriting Authority Panel and a Reinsurance Broker panel made up of top executives. And sure to excite a never seen before vendor panel of RSM, BDO, and Baker Tilly on stage at the same time. Day two kicks off with another first with AM Best, IBC, MSA, and the Insurance Institute all participating. Capped with sessions delving into our regulatory landscape and state of the economy. Transitioning into an exciting afternoon of social activities and culminating in a vibrant evening in the heart of Quebec. The conference concludes on day three with returning staples back by popular demand. An Accounting update focusing on current challenges to us all and a Tax Update sure to provide valuable insight. Capped off by a closing keynote from Brandi Leifso, Entrepreneur and Founder of Evio Beauty Group.

- Sunday Morning Golf: Join us for a round of golf on starting at 9am on Sunday September 7 at Golf de la Faune. Golf club rental available.
- Bike tour around Île d’Orléans: Embark on a 3 and a half hour guided e-bike tour of Île d’Orléans, Quebec’s hidden gem. Ride modern electric bikes along shared rural roads to various tastings of fresh berries, artisanal chocolate, wine, cheese, and cassis. Capture stunning St. Lawrence River views and learn about the island’s rich farming heritage.
- Bus tour through Quebec City: Join us for a guided bus tour through Quebec City, where you will learn about this historical city and take in some iconic landmarks.
- Social impact activity: Volunteer to clean up a walking trail on Île d’Orléans.
